The Long Review
David Andrade is reviewing My Big Campus for Tech & Learning. You can find his latest installment here: My Big Campus – collaborative online environment for schools – long review part 6
This passage in his part 5 review really struck a cord with me:
I’ve been using My Big Campus with my AP Physics class and just started getting the honors Physics classes on board. One of the features they love is the collaboration tools. The AP students have been using the chat and discussion features to help each other with homework problems and when studying. They like the fact that there are no distractions when they use My Big Campus like there is when they talk via Facebook or Twitter. It’s also faster and easier than texting on their phone.
It’s been so popular, the honors Physics classes want to set up a discussion board for homework and study help and want the AP Physics students to be involved as tutors and mentors. I really like this idea and I’m going to work on setting it up over the next week or so.
Students helping each other, in an easy, authentic way. Talk about engagement!
Merry Christmas! Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
